fijuka sind ankathie (voc./synth.) und judith filimónova (bass/voc.). dieses deutsch-österreichische duo (burghausen/wien) hat sich auf der kunstuniversität in wien kennengelernt und schnell, im zuge gemeinsamen herumlungerns in schäbigen spelunken, seine gemeinsame vorliebe für pop mit einem dunklen twist (und einem augenzwinkern) entdeckt. beide waren bereits in mehreren bands und musikprojekten, aber erst mit fijuka verfolgen sie ihre eigene musikalische vision. es ist ein multi-instrumentaler, experimentierfreudiger pop, immer auf der suche nach neuen wegen der klangerzeugung. fijuka gibt es seit dem frühjahr 2011, im april 2013 erschien ihre debut-ep behave (from now on).

chroma are fucking sick, this 12 inch is fucking sick too. the trio, from newcastle, formed in 2011 and consist of phobia, sato & tyrone – already well known entities within d&b circles. they make blinding music, as previously witnessed on such superb labels as prog:ram, c.i.a. renegade hardware, commercial suicide, symmetry, ingredients, med school & critical. they are so good, andy c, goldie, klute, hype, total science, friction, fabio all see fit to play their music in their sets. bloody good i say. makes me want to buy it.

capital bass records continues to explore new sonic territories with its second release by spb based analogue-head ponty mython.
the main theme called jesus makes you stomp your feet to its funky beat and phat acid bassline that mutates during the track keeping things deep without getting too religious. futureboogie man christophe does some good work on the remix adding some extra syrup: even more bass plus preachers speech in the middle of the track.
the b-side goes even deeper with blackstreet sampling number u ve got your pr0blems. starting off with the smooth disco beat, little guitar and that catchy male vocal the track changes halfway with addition of funky acid squelches and 4x4 house beat that makes you realize you really, really want to stay at the dancefloor.

the next sintope vinyl series release comes from damien roussel also known as the mekanism. it is a project founded in paris in the summer of 2011. his raw deep house sound saw releases with some of the world s finest electronic labels like need want, noir, electronique and under the shade.
small things ep includes two original tracks and two remixes - one signed by kolombo who brings up his mixture of electronic house and disco vibes and another one by ntfo & rhadow, a dancefloor oriented track that keeps a great balance between melody and groove.

roundtree could be the alias of a very well known (perhaps legendary) producer who might want to remain anonymous. we are not saying, or perhaps we just did, im not sure. anyhow, two rather crisp housers on offer here, *g-string diva* with its sharp as nails percussion and female spoken vocal which lends the track a nicely sleazy edge and *no need for the v* with its prominent baseline driven grove. enjoy!
